Attendance
Students MUST be in attendance every day at TRAICE Academy in order to ensure they complete their program in a timely manner and are able to return to their home school. Drop-off students between 8:00 a.m. and 8:20 a.m.
Tardy Policy
Students are expected to be in their seats at the start of the class period. If a student is going to be late, it is the parent's responsibility to notify the attendance office before 9:30 am.
Truancy/Skipping Class

Tardy - Reporting to an assigned area late constitutes tardy; reporting to school late constitutes tardy.
Truancy - Failure to report to school or an assigned area without a valid excuse constitutes truancy.
Assigned areas for students during the school day are established by individual schedules and other directives by the principals or teacher. Failure to report to the assigned area constitutes truancy. Once a student has arrived at school, the student is expected to remain there for the full school day unless excused in writing by the principal or designee and notification of parent/guardian. Some students in the high schools may have irregular schedules because of their participation in cooperative work programs or other legitimate reasons.
Students are expected to be punctual in arriving at assigned areas. Tardiness to class should not be reported as a school tardy. A student is tardy to school who has not reported when scheduled to the homeroom teacher or person responsible for checking attendance. A student is tardy to class who has not reported to class or assigned area when scheduled.
Chronic Absenteeism
Chronic absenteeism is defined as absence from school at least ten percent (10%) of the time that school is in session and the student is included in membership. In the event of a chronic or reoccurring illness, documentation by the student’s doctor indicating the nature of the chronic or reoccurring condition will suffice for a doctor’s statement for each individual absence. Documentation will not extend beyond the end of the current school year.
Referral to District Attorney for violation of Okla. Statutes, (Title 70, Sec. 10-106) Oklahoma Compulsory Education Law
If a child is absent without valid excuse four (4) or more days or parts of days within a four- week period or if the child is absent from school for ten (10) or more days or parts of days within a semester without a valid excuse, the attendance officer shall immediately report such absences to the district attorney in the county wherein the school is located for juvenile proceedings.
Early Check-Out Procedures
Parents must notify the school 15 minutes prior to students being checked out. Parents must come to the main office and show a photo ID, and be in the student’s Power School contacts for pick-up. The parent or guardian must be listed on the student’s “pick up” list on PowerSchool or the student will not be allowed to leave with the adult.
Parents/Guardians must sign their student out indicating that they are checking their student out early with the reason.
