Pamela Noble named TRAICE Teacher of the Year

Pamela Noble has been selected as the 2024-2025 TRAICE Academy High School Teacher of the Year!

We asked Pamela a few questions to learn more about her and her time at Tulsa Public Schools.

What subject do you teach?

I take immense pride in my fifteenth year as a history teacher at TRAICE Academy High School, bringing my total years of experience in education to twenty. Before joining TRAICE Academy, I established a solid foundation in history instruction at several alternative programs throughout the state. I work with both middle and high school students, nurturing their passion for history while cultivating their critical thinking skills.

Why did you want to become a teacher?

I often ponder whether I became a teacher by chance or by choice. When I started my journey twenty years ago, it was initially by chance, but now it is a conscious choice. Throughout my teaching career, I have devoted myself to alternative education, as I believe it is the most fulfilling field in which to teach. My goal has always been to work with students who struggle in traditional school environments. I am convinced that every student possesses a desire to learn and succeed; however, not all have access to the right resources and support. I sought an environment focused on serving students and addressing their individual needs, which is why alternative education aligns perfectly with my aspirations. Once we can tackle the underlying issues, learning can truly begin, and I strive to be a vital partner in facilitating that progress.

What is your favorite part of the job?

What I cherish most about being a teacher is the opportunity to go to work each day and learn something new from my students. I often share with others that I glean just as much knowledge from them as they do from me. My students exemplify strength, courage, and resilience, and they inspire me to embody these values as well. Each day I enter my classroom, I strive to cultivate a positive learning environment, ensuring that when my students return to their home schools, they do so enriched and equipped with the necessary tools to be successful.

Is there anything else you would like everyone to know?

I am humbled to receive the honor of Teacher of the Year. My colleagues and I have navigated numerous difficulties together, and I am truly thankful for their steadfast support. I could not ask for a better team than the one that surrounds me now. It is genuinely inspiring to observe their dedication to teaching our most vulnerable students. There is no better environment in which to work alongside such skilled individuals. Ultimately, the students who enter the doors of TRAICE Academy are what drive us to return each day without hesitation. They represent our future, and, more importantly, they deserve our unwavering support.
